David joined Balderton as a General Partner in early 2020, coming from SoftBank where he was a founding member of the global investment team and a founding Partner for the $100B SoftBank Vision Fund.

At SoftBank, David invested in and collaborated with some of the world’s most innovative technology founders. He supported these leaders as they built category-defining companies. He led investments in numerous high-profile companies, including: Didi Chuxing, the world’s leading mobile transportation platform (NYSE:DIDI); Grab, Southeast Asia’s leading superapp (NASDAQ: GRAB); Lemonade, the digital insurance company (NASDAQ: LMND); SoFi, the American online personal finance platform (NYSE:SOFI); Kabbage, one of the leading US SMB lending platforms (acquired by American Express); Ola, India’s leading ride-sharing platform.

Prior to SoftBank, David spent a decade at Google. There, he led product partnerships and new business development internationally for products that touched billions of users, including Google Search, the Android platform, Google Maps and Google’s payment and commerce initiatives.
